The achievement of the SDL team has won the first prize of the Technical Invention Award in the Environmental Protection Science and Technology Award!

On January 10, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment released the award announcement for the 2024 Environmental Protection Science and Technology Award. The scientific research achievement "Key Technologies and Equipment for Hyperspectral Targeted Imaging of Polluted Gases", jointly completed by the University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei Institutes of Physical Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Anhui University, and Beijing SDL Technology Co., Ltd., was nominated by two academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and won the first prize of the Technical Invention Award in the 2024 "Environmental Protection Science and Technology Award".


Ground-based hyperspectral imaging remote sensing is an important technology for obtaining three-dimensional distribution information of polluted gases, and it is also a standard method for verifying the accuracy of satellite remote sensing at home and abroad. As China's air pollution prevention and control enters a deep-water zone, there is an urgent need for targeted imaging technology with higher spatial and temporal resolution to refine emission responsibilities from kilometer-scale grids to specific facilities at the meter-scale. This can avoid interfering with the normal production of compliant enterprises, and promote the parallel progress of economic growth and air quality improvement.


Through a series of breakthroughs in key components and technologies, the SDL team enabled the hyperspectral targeted imaging equipment to simultaneously achieve targeted imaging of pollution sources and horizontal and vertical imaging of multi-component gases. This has promoted the innovation of China's independently controllable hyperspectral three-dimensional remote sensing technology for the atmospheric environment, providing essential new technologies and equipment support for China's "carbon reduction and pollution abatement" efforts.
