SDL participated in the compilation of the national standard Terminology Standard for Ecological Environment Protection Engineering

In December 2024, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development approved and issued the national standard "Terminology Standard for Ecological Environment Protection Engineering" (GB/T 51462 - 2024), which will come into effect on April 1, 2025.

The "Terminology Standard for Ecological Environment Protection Engineering" defines and provides basic specifications for processes, systems, equipment, and facilities in the field of ecological environment protection engineering. It serves as a common language and basis for communication among all sectors of society, both within and outside the field of ecological environment protection engineering. It is applicable to ecological environment protection projects such as water pollution control, air pollution control, solid waste treatment and disposal, noise, vibration and electromagnetic environment control, ecological environment restoration and risk management, and ecological environment monitoring.

SDL is responsible for the compilation of the part of ecological environment monitoring terms. This compilation is based on the current and effective national standards and industry standards related to environmental monitoring, and also refers to some regulatory documents publicly released by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and other materials.

The ecological environment monitoring terms are classified according to the monitoring objects. The main chapters include: 1. Basic terms; 2. Water and wastewater monitoring; 3. Ambient air and waste gas monitoring; 4. Soil monitoring; 5. Solid waste testing and identification; 6. Noise, vibration and electromagnetic environment monitoring; 7. Ecological quality monitoring, etc.
